I was born in Antalya, Turkey. I went to high school in Izmir and got my MD degree from Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa Medical School. Due to my interest in cancer biology and research, I have moved to the US recently. In DeCaprio Lab, I am working on viral carcinogenesis mechanisms and trying to discover ways to interrupt those pathways. Specifically, I am interested in the role of hippo pathway in virus positive Merkel Cell Carcinoma. In the future, I want to be a physician-scientist in the cancer area. For fun, I love playing a traditional musical instrument ‘Ney’, swimming and playing chess.
